  • Annie Millican, Artisan Relations Manager

    PERU

I took a trip to Peru in November of 2014 to visit with old friends and colleagues. While I was there, I met with a wonderful family of master weavers to co-design rug samples for DARA Artisans.

  • Annie Millican, Artisan Relations Manager

    PERU

I lived in Peru from 2009 - 2013 working with artisans in the Sacred Valley, so I try to return at least once a year to stay connected with my home-away-from-home. There is nothing quite like those majestic Andean mountains to inspire and provide perspective!

    CROATIA

I traveled along the coast of Croatia last June with family and friends. Boasting more than a thousand islands, Croatia offers a wonderful opportunity to experience an unspoiled Europe, even during peak tourist season. We swam every day in the pristine water, discovering off-the-beaten-track coves and beautiful fishing villages.

    CROATIA

The breathtaking island of Mljet was my favorite stop along the Croatian coast. Located 23 miles from Dubrovnik, Mljet is famous for its rich vegetation and spectacular saltwater lakes. According to legend, Mljet is the beautiful island of Ogygia where the nymph Calypso kept Odysseus captive for seven years. I highly recommend renting bikes and spending a day exploring its scenic National Park.

    RHODE ISLAND

My favorite place for a peaceful getaway is our home in Little Compton, RI. I love relaxing in our outdoor dining room, watching the cows next door graze down by the sea. Little Compton is a quiet place with brilliant sunsets and abundant produce.

    RHODE ISLAND

My ideal weekend in Little Compton always includes a bit of fishing, admiring the ocean view, picking vegetables from the garden, and cooking for friends and family. I hope to do all of the above when we go there this Fourth of July.
  • Leigh Millard, Director of Sourcing and Product Development

    GEORGIA

I recently traveled to Georgia, a tiny country located at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe. My favorite tourist stop was the 14th-Century Gergeti Trinity Church. Located high in the mountains, it can be reached by a steep 3 hour climb up the mountain, or a 30 minute jeep ride.
  • Leigh Millard, Director of Sourcing and Product Development

    GEORGIA

The church has long been a symbol of pride for Georgia and throughout history has served as a fortress for precious national relics during times of war or danger.
  • Aydan Puth, Director of Communications

    INDIA

When I was traveling in India, I fell in love with the architecture in the city of Udaipur. Udaipur is known for its elaborate marble palaces that date back to the 18th Century.

    VIETNAM

Visiting Halong Bay in Vietnam was one of the most visually arresting travel experiences I've ever had. With jade-colored water and an infinite number of tiny limestone islands, it is an unmissable destination for sightseeing.
